KTTO’s Ankara contacts

A delegation from the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO) headed by its chairman Turgay Deniz returned to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) after completing a series of contacts in Ankara last week.

The economic situation and problems of the TRNC as well the Turkiye-TRNC relations were evaluated during a meeting held at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkiye (TOBB).

The TRNC delegation also attended a fast-breaking dinner given in honor of the delegation by the President of TOBB Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Deputy Vice-President of Cyprus Affairs Coordinator Halil Afşarata was also present at the meeting.

Speaking during the meeting at the TOBB, Chairman of the KTTO Turgay Deniz shared the effects of the pandemic on the TRNC economy.

He said the need for public reform and the importance of switching to the e-state system formation was better understood during this period.

Stating that work on these issues should not be neglected in the coming period, Deniz stressed that Turkiye’s support to these efforts were of vital importance.

Evaluating the KTTO’s contacts in Ankara, he said, “We found the opportunity to share our views on the TRNC’s problems and solutions to these problems and also reiterated our will to work together.”
