The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was successfully represented at the World Tourism fair held in London.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu who evaluated the issue said that the goal was to expand the tourism market in the UK.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said he was pleased with the interest shown to the North Cyprus stand at the “World Travel Market” tourism fair that took place in London this week which ended on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the the Deputy Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the efforts at the fair to promote and market North Cyprus were very successful.
It was also stated that tourism operators and agencies were able to meet with their counterparts and reach consumers directly at the fair to utilize the opportunities to promote North Cyprus.
Minister Ataoğlu also said that tourism figures had been steadily increasing now that the pandemic had subsided and that numbers from the UK market backed this argument.
He said that in terms of tourism the UK market is very important for the TRNC and therefore the promotion efforts will continue to further develop this market.
Ataoğlu also said that during the meetings held at the World Tourism Fair, the climate and natural beauties of North Cyprus attracted the attention of trekkers.
Referring to the important use of digital media to reach the masses, Ataoğlu stated that they had stepped up their investment in this direction to promote and market the country.
Noting that this year the Turkish Presidency and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism provided great support for the promotion of north Cyprus, Ataoğlu said, “we are aware of the importance of this support, therefore we are working in a very organized manner for the year ahead.”
