Minister Atun met with Turkish Commerce Minister Mehmet Muş

The Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun who is in the Turkish capital Ankara for a series of contacts met with the Turkish Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş.

A working meeting was also held between the delegations of the two countries.

According to a written statement, Minister Atun discussed with Turkish officials ways of enabling the use of the Turkish Lira in commerce conducted between Turkey and the TRNC, particularly concerning goods produced in both countries.

Atun explained that such a move would reduce the risk of inflation caused by fluctuations in foreign currency and would ensure price stability.

According to the statement, the final touches are being put on the Joint TRNC-Turkey Economic Agreement which will be signed between the two countries.
