The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus has announced that it has discovered the remains of what it believes belong to a Greek Cypriot person during excavation work carried out at a well in the Akova area.

In a written statement made by the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP), it was stated that human remains were reached at a depth of five meters and therefore the excavation will proceed manually after this point.

The committee announced that excavations being carried out with this technique are a “difficult and a slow process” and that they aim to complete the excavation within two to three weeks time.
