Ayşegül Baybars and Jale Refik Rogers have announced their resignation from the People’s Party (HP).
Both who are MPs in parliament will continue as independents.
The resignations have lowered the number of parties with seats in the Republic’s Assembly to four.
A statement issued by the HP following the announcement of the resignations, stated that the resignations were long overdue as both Baybars and Rogers should have handed them in the day they refused to comply with the party’s decision for Sine-i-millet or resuming politics on the streets.
Meanwhile in a joint written statement issued earlier in the day, it was stated that the former HP MP Gülşah Sanver Manavoğlu also resigned from the party.
The statement, said that in addition to the two MPs, 64 HP members including former members of the central executive board, had also handed in their resignations to the party headquarters.
