New minimum wage set at 7000TL gross
Date Added: 12 January 2022

The new minimum wage has been set at a gross of 7,000 Turkish Lira (TL). Employees working on the minimum wage will be receiving a net of 6,090 TL following deductions.

The new rate was approved by the Minimum Wage Commission which reconvened on Tuesday to discuss objections filed against the minimum wage which was approved at the last meeting held before the New Year.

While the new wage was approved by a majority of votes, representatives of employers, as in the previous meeting, rejected the new figure.

The head of the commission Erman Yaylalı said that they had taken into account the rise in prices of basic foods and commodities and the loss in the value of the Turkish Lira against foreign currencies when setting the new rate.

According to the new wage, employees will be receiving a gross of 40.38TL per hour, 323.07TL per day and 1,615.38TL per week.

The new minimum wage will be valid as of January 1, 2022.
