A new wave of dust is affecting the island, the Meteorology Department has warned.
The heat and dust blowing in from the Middle East is expected to subside by Tuesday night.
The public and particularly any vulnerable groups of population are urged to avoid circulating in open spaces until the observed episode has elapsed, as the small size of respirable particles in dust may have negative effects on human health.
The fire hazard for forests is also very high and the public are to strictly refrain from lighting picnic fires outside of designated areas.
