Occupancy rate at hotels continues to increase

The upward trend in tourism figures in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is continuing, even though they haven’t reached post-Covid-19 numbers.

The occupancy rate of hotels in the country has reached 36.8 per cent increase in the first seven months of 2022.

According to the figures published by the Tourism Planning Department from January to July 2022, the occupancy rate at touristic facilities has increased by 36.8 per cent.

This figure was 15.8 per cent for the same period the previous year.

The total number of Turkish and foreign tourists for the first seven months was 478,815 compared to 53,094 the previous year.

The highest increase was recorded in Turkish nationals with a 776.3 per cent increase, reaching 350,800.

The number of tourists staying overnight at hotels has increased by 773 per cent reaching 1,772,911.
