Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay condemned the Greek Cypriot administration regarding the instruction for tearing out a page about Atatürk from a textbook taught in Greek Cypriot schools.

Oktay via his twitter account reminded the Greek Cypriot officials that it was not possible to erase the historical heritage of the past by tearing up pages from textbooks.

“This disrespect of the Greek Cypriots towards Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey and to the Turkish nation is the clearest indication of their intolerance against the Turkish existence on the island. I condemn this” Oktay wrote.
