The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), Ambassador Kubanıçbek Ömüraliyev said that accepting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as an observer state gave out an important message to the world.

“The Turkish Cypriot people are an indispensible part of the Turkic World,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with the Anadolu news agency, Ambassador Kubanıçbek Ömüraliyev who was appointed as the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) at the organisation’s latest summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan said that accepting the TRNC as an observer was an important move.

He expressed the hope that the TRNC will one day become a powerful state within the Organisation of Turkic States.

Pointing out that Turkish Cypriots were an indispensible part of the Turkic World, Ömüraliyev said that they will continue to work for peace, stability and the development of the TRNC at the global level.
