A total of 208, 236 people are eligible to vote in the upcoming local elections to be held on Sunday, December 25, the head of the Supreme Election Board Narin Ferdi Şefik has announced.

Evaluating the upcoming elections set to take place at the end of this month, the head of the Supreme Election Board Narin Ferdi Şefik said that there was a total of 208, 236 registered voters.

She added that there were 67 mayoral candidates contesting for the 18 municipalities, 33 of which were party nominated and 34 independent.

Şefik also explained that voters will have four separate ballot papers given to them which will allow them to either placing a stamp, or a stamp plus ticking a specific number of candidates for the municipal councils.

She also called on everyone to cast their vote and to follow the voting rules carefully.
