The latest graduates of the Atatürk Teachers’ Academy recieved their diplomas at a ceremony on Tuesday.

The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre who addressed the ceremony encouraged the young graduates to walk on the path shown to them by Atatürk, Rauf Denktaş and Dr. Fazıl Küçük.

Speaking at the ceremony, Töre reminded that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was an independent state and that it was everyone’s duty to protect and defend it.

“You should continue to walk in the path drawn by Atatürk, by Rauf Denktaş, Dr. Fazıl Küçük and all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of the Turkish Cypriot people,” he said.

Töre added that the Turkish nation has always desired peace in the world and in Cyprus.

Following the parliamentary speaker’s speech, students were handed their diplomas.
