National Unity Party (UBP) MP Zorlu Töre has been elected as the new Speaker of Parliament.

Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Fazilet Özdenefe was elected as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament during elections to determine the Parliamentary Bureau.

Meanwhile, MPs who will represent the Turkish Cypriots at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Parliament were also appointed during the Monday’s session of parliament.

Accordingly, the UBP MP Özdemir Berova and the CTP MP Armağan Candan will be attending the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The UBP MP Hakan Dinçyürek and the CTP MP Fikri Toros became members of the delegation which will represent the Republic’s Assembly at the European Parliament.
