Period for pre-election prohibitions shortened

The Republic’s Assembly on Monday approved a motion to shorten the pre-election prohibition period from 60 days to 40 days.

The temporary amendment to the Election and Referendum Law was approved unanimously by the legislative assembly.

Accordingly the pre-election restrictions will now come into force on November 16, 40 days before the upcoming local elections on December 25, 2022.
