PM Saner to meet with Turkish VP Fuat Oktay in Ankara

Prime Minister Ersan Saner met with the Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay in the Turkish capital Ankara on Monday.

The meeting took place at the presidential complex.

Saner, who met with representatives of economic organisations and war veteran societies in Adana had moved to Ankara earlier on Monday.

Speaking earlier to the Anadolu news agency, Prime Minister Ersan Saner said he was pleased with the economic and cooperation protocol signed between Turkey and the TRNC.

He reminded that the four different protocols covered areas such as higher education, cooperation between municipalities and infrastructural projects.

Saner added that their goal was to transform the TRNC into a commercial hub similar to that of Dubai and Singapore.

He also said that they were hoping to inaugurate the new terminal building at Ercan Airport on November 15.

Earlier on Sunday, Saner speaking during a meeting with war veterans in Turkey’s Hatay province said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will continue on its path with motherland Turkey.

He added that the TRNC was an important part of Turkey’s Blue Homeland doctrine in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The TRNC Prime Minister said that the TRNC along with Turkey will continue to defend its rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean

Following his meeting with the war veterans, Saner paid a visit to a monument in İskendurun dedicated to martyrs killed during the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation.

He also inspected the İskendurun Port and Steel Factory before visiting the Payas Municipality in Hatay.

Saner was briefed on the district by the Mayor of Payas Bekir Altan.

Prime Minister Ersan Saner completed his contacts by visiting the Sokullu Mehmet Paşa social complex built by Mimar Sinan in 1574.
