PM Saner visited Güvercinlik Village

Prime Minister Ersan Saner was in Güvercinlik village on Thursday as part of a series of visits to rural areas.

Saner came together with locals, listening to their problems and demands as well as sharing with them the latest steps and moves adopted by the government.

Speaking to reporters, Saner stated that it was their priority, in addition to maintaining main roads, to renew village roads.

The General Directorate of Highways TRNC Coordinator Aykut Mutlu who was also present at the visit informed the prime minister on ongoing road work projects.

Explaining that the renewal or repairs of 322 km of village roads had begun and was planned to be completed over the next two years, Mutlu said, “we are raising the standards of village roads and increasing road safety.”

During his visit, the prime minister also came together with the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başçeri and the Minister of Public Works and Communications Resmiye Canaltay during which he was briefed on the work being done.

The Minister of Public Works and Communications Resmiye Canaltay also gave information about the work being carried out at the Ercan, Gaziköy, Paşaköy, Vadili and Akdoğan roads.
