“We received the strong support of motherland Turkey both on economic and political issues,” Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu told BRT in a separate evaluation of his contacts in the Turkish capital Ankara.
Sucuoğlu said that he had received an incredibly warm welcome in Ankara in the past two days during which he had found the opportunity to convey his party’s views and plans.
“We are determined to take radical decisions and introduce sweeping reforms. Our joint view with motherland Turkey is to create a Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus that can stand on its own feet,” he said.
Prime Minister Sucuoğlu added that Turkey’s support both financially and in terms of experienced and human resources will continue in the period to come.
“We are now focusing all our energy on the January 23 elections. Our goal is to form the government on our own and to start planning the future of the TRNC,” he said.
