Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu on Friday met with the Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP) Mustafa Destici as part of his ongoing contacts in Ankara.

Speaking during the meeting held at the BBP headquarters, Prime Minister Sucuoğlu said that Turkiye and the TRNC were two separate states but part of the same nation.

Highlighting the importance of Turkiye’s support to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Sucuoğlu said the Turkish government’s close interest in the TRNC and its support added strength to the national cause.

The leader of the BBP Mustafa Destici for his part shared Sucuoğlu’s view of two seperate states and one nation.

He said that Türkiye was making a great effort to ensure that the Turkish Cypriot people lived in peace and prosperity on the island.

Destici also said that his party fully supported Ankara’s policies in the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus.

“It is our hope that the TRNC will one day be recognized,” he added.
