Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu has said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will eventually achieve its goal of international recognition as a result of the work and efforts being carried out.
Receiving a delegation of Azeri MPs who are in the country as part of events marking the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre, Sucuoğlu said that Turkiye, the TRNC and Azerbaijan were three independent states but that the peoples of these three countries were of the same nation.
“The TRNC was founded through great sacrifices and struggles. Currently the Republic of Türkiye recognizes the TRNC but our efforts to seek political and international recognition will one day reach its goal. We may be far apart but our hearts are close,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Azeri MP Ramil Hasan expressed his country’s continued support to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
He said that they were happy and proud to be in the country.
