Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu has said that his goal remained to create a Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) that can stand on its own feet.

Speaking at a festival gathering in Gazimağusa on Sunday, Sucuoğlu drew attention to the strong bond that exists between Turkiye and the TRNC.

“Turkiye and the TRNC are two separate states but we are one nation. We are inseparable,” he said, adding that the new government he will be setting up will focus on raising the prosperity and welfare the TRNC deserves.

Sucuoğlu said that the aim was to achieve this goal within a year.

“Our duty is to solve your problems. Our doors are open to everyone,” he added.
