The process of moving to the new Central Prison has been completed.
After all the prisoners were moved to the new Prison, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel visited the prison and inspected the new building.
Prime Minister Üstel paid a visit to the new Central Prison on Tuesday and he was accompanied by Minister of Interior Ziya Öztürkler, Mayor of Değirmenlik Ali Karavezirler, Director of the Central Prison Fatih Erdoğan, some deputies and a delegation from the Republic of Türkiye’s Ministry of Justice and the Gendarmerie General Command.
Making a statement during the visit, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that the coalition government has continued its activities since the day it was founded, and added that it had been completing the projects written in the government programs, item by item.
Noting that they are determined to solve the problems that have accumulated in the country, even the problems that seem unsolvable, the premier said that while doing this, they will also undertake reforms that have not been attempted in the past.
Explaining that they had first discussed the Penal Code and passed it through the parliament, Üstel stated that the process of moving to the new prison, which they started on July 1st, has been completed with the transfer of all prisoners as of today.
Noting that the new building cost 350 million TL and Motherland Türkiye assumed all financial responsibility, Prime Minister Üstel thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay and other officials for their contributions.
He also noted that they will continue to put their signatures on new projects in cooperation with the Republic of Turkey in the future as well.
