Three suspects believed to be connected to the murder of Turkish Cypriot businessman Halil Falyalı were detained in Istanbul on Wedneaday as part of the joint investigation being carried out by police in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkiye.

Falyalı and his driver were gunned down in Girne on Tuesday night by unknown assilants.

The General Directorate of Police in Turkiye in a statement issued on Wednesday said that three suspects had been taken in for questioning in Istanbul.

Another suspect was arrested by police in the TRNC on Wednesday and is currently in police custody until the investigation is completed.

Meanwhile, the funeral for the Halil Falyalı will be held in his home village of Kumyalı today.
