President Ersin Tatar drew attention to economic problems and the 2022 Fiscal Year Budget during a statement he delivered after giving the newly elected leader of the National Unity Party (UBP) Faiz Sucuoğlu the task to form a new government on Monday.

Reminding that he held all necessary contacts within the framework of the constitution, Tatar reminded that no one pledged to form a new government.

He added that Sucuoğlu will hold a series of contacts and evaluations in an effort to form the government.

“The pandemic process continues and there are economic problems. The budget should be passed” the President noted and expressed the hope that the budget will be passed at the parliament.

Stating that the date of the early elections will emerge according to the position of a possible interim government to be formed, Tatar said “in the meantime the budget could pass because according to the constitution the budget should be at the parliament by the end of October, should be discussed at the committees first and should then go to the General Assembly. The budget is important. People expect the MPs who gave a vote of confidence to the current government to carry out their parliamentary duties and pass the budget.”

Meanwhile, Tatar in a statement to the TAK News Agency stressed that the 2022 Fiscal Year Budget should be passed.
