President Ersin Tatar paid a visit to the Girne Özyalçın Vaccination centre on Wednesday, chatting with staff and the public.
Speaking during the visit, Tatar drew attention to the importance of practising self-measures against the more contagious Omicron variant.
The president urged the public to avoid crowded places as much as possible and to undergo necessary tests before engaging in socialisation.
Tatar also highlighted the importance once again of getting vaccinated or booster shots.
Conveying his wishes for a better 2022, President Ersin Tatar said that there is hope that the global pandemic will end with the Omicron variant.
Noting that the pandemic has been well managed in the TRNC for the last two years as a result of the decisions and measures taken, Turkey’s vaccine support, the construction of an emergency hospital, the sensitivity of the citizens and the devoted work of the health workers, Tatar congratulated the public and health workers and wished for a better year in 2022.
