President Ersin Tatar is briefing the Speaker of Parliament and leaders and representatives of political parties with seats in parliament on his latest contacts in New York.

The meeting at the presidential palace started at 11am.

Meanwhile, the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and the Social Democratic Party (TDP) announced that they will not be attending the meeting.

A statement released by the Republican Turkish Party criticised President Tatar for not meeting with the political parties before his visit to New York and said it would not be attending at today’s meeting in protest.

The leader of Social Democratic Party Cemal Özyiğit in a written statement said that they too would not be attending the meeting on Thursday for the same reason.
