President Ersin Tatar issued a message marking the 83rd anniversary of the death of founder of modern-day Turkey Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
In his message, President Tatar stressed that the Turkish Cypriot People will never leave the path drawn by Atatürk.
“I remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk – the most important commander of the 20th century, a statesman and a revolutionary who rallied a nation faced with destruction, saving it from imperialism with the War of Independence and establishing a state. Turkish Cypriots established their own state by following in the footsteps of Atatürk and with the support of the Republic of Turkey. Our people and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue to walk the path set by Atatürk, never abandoning its sovereignty, independence and reforms,” he said.
