President Ersin Tatar said on Wednesday that the different cultures that existed in the country were the TRNC’s greatest wealth.

The President was speaking during a visit paid to him by a delegation which organised the Regional Anatolia Culture Festival last weekend.

He said that it was important to preserve Anatolian culture which was the root of Turkish Cypriot culture.

Touching upon the Maraş initiative, Tatar said that the area was revived following the opening of the fenced-off town to the public.

He pointed out that 500,000 people had visited the area in the past year despite the pandemic.

President Tatar expressed the view that Maraş will become a hotspot for tourists visiting Gazimağusa.
