President Ersin Tatar on Sunday met with economists and financial experts to discuss the latest economic situation in the country in light of the inreasing value of foreign currencies against the Turkish Lira.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, President Ersin Tatar said that he was not indifferent to the issue and would be presenting the government with a series of proposals or suggestions.

He added that it was not easy to try to manage the current crisis which was the result of forces beyond the control of the TRNC.

Among those who attended the meeting were Vedat Yorucu, Özay Mehmet and Kaan Kutlay all of whom are academics in the field of economy and finance, financial expert Derviş Kırıkkaleli, Assistant General Manager of Halk Bank Kenan Şahin, economist and businessman Ahmet Ratip, banker and treasury expert Emre Değirmencioğlu, former vice president of the Central Bank and current General Manager Ahmet Karavelioğlu.
