President Ersin Tatar said on Sunday that the “Operation Claw-Sword” was of extreme importance for Türkiye’s national security.

Tatar added that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will always be by the side of Türkiye.

In a message issued on Sunday, President Ersin Tatar expressed the TRNC’s support to the Turkish forces carrying out anti-terrorist operation “Claw-Sword.”

He said that the operation was of utmost importance to Türkiye’s national security and that the TRNC will always be by the side of Türkiye when it comes to fighting terrorism.

“There is no difference between the PKK and the PYD/YPG, and the differentiation made by others has no meaning or acceptance for the TRNC. We call on the Greek Cypriot administration to review its relations with terrorist organisations and call upon it to stop collaborating with terrorist elements which endanger humanity,” Tatar added.

The president also expressed his belief that the operation will be successful.
