President to brief parliament on latest proposals

The latest developments on the Cyprus issue continue to top the agenda as Turkish Cypriots prepare to celebrate 48 years of peace and freedom on the island.

President Ersin Tatar discussed the latest developments on the Cyprus issue with the Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre.

The president is expected to brief the parliament on the course of the Cyprus issue and the proposals presented by the Turkish side.

President Ersin Tatar received the Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre on Monday.

The two exchanged views on the latest developments on the Cyprus issue as well as domestic issues.

A decision was also taken at the meeting for President Tatar to brief parliament at an extraordinary session regarding the latest cooperation proposals sent to the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades via the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

The President’s Special Representative Ergün Olgun was also present at the meeting.
