Primary Schools to open on Sept 13, high school to open on Sept 14

The new academic year is starting next week.

Schools affiliated to the Primary Education Department will open on September 13, while secondary schools will open on September 14.

According to a statement made by the Ministry of National Education’s Press Office the registration of students in schools affiliated to the Primary Education Department will be made between September 7-9.

The new school year in primary education will begin on Tuesday, September 13.

Approximately 25 thousand students are expected to study in 127 schools, 111 of which are public and 16 private.

The registration of students for the 2022-2023 Academic Year for schools affiliated to the General Secondary Education Department and the Directorate of Vocational Technical Education, which started on September 1 will be completed on Friday, September 9.

The new school year in secondary education will begin on Wednesday, September 14.

In the new academic year, approximately 23 thousand secondary and high school students will be studying in 49 schools, 37 public and 12 private.

Approximately 4 thousand vocational high school students will be studying in 12 schools affiliated to the Vocational Technical Education Department and approximately 400 students will be studying at the Taner Akcan Apprenticeship and Adult Education Centre.

There are approximately 5,800 teachers working in public and private schools across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
