One of the holiest nights in Islam, known as Qadr Night is being observed tonight.

The Qadr Night variously rendered in English as the Night of Decree, Night of Power, Night of Value or Night of Measures, is, in Islamic belief, the night when the Quran was first sent down from Heaven to the world and also the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

A special night of prayers will be held at the Hala Sultan Mosque in Haspolat this evening.

The programme will be aired on BRT’s second channel as of 8:15pm.
