Savaşan attends tourism exhibition in Antalya

The head of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council Ahmet Savaşan has said that health tourism in the country is set to develop further.

Savaşan was speaking at a tourism exhibition held in Antalya, Türkiye.

“Our goal in the short term is to attract 10,000 health tourists to the country and achieve revenues up to $100m.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was among 20 countries which took part in the tourism exhibition held at the Antalya Anfaş Fair and Congress Centre.

Speaking at a panel at the fair, head of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, National Unity Party (UBP) MP Ahmet Savaşan informed participants on the advantages of North Cyprus in the field of health and other areas.

Pointing out that the Covid-19 pandemic was the result of the rise in global population and overcrowding, Savaşan said that the pandemic had deeply impacted all political, social, cultural, touristic and other activities around the world.

He said the TRNC was among countries which had managed the pandemic well.

Savaşan said that efforts have been stepped up to make North Cyprus a health tourism hotspot with the aim of attracting more than 10,000 people annually for treatment.
