The Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Şentop has congratulated Zorlu Töre on his election as the Speaker of the TRNC parliament.

Şentop who held a telephone conversation with Töre, drew attention to the strong bond of friendship that exists between the two countries.

He expressed the hope that the strong dialogue that existed between the parliaments of the two countries will continue at the highest level in the period ahead.

Stating that he would be honoured to see Töre and his delegation in Ankara, the Turkish parliamentary speaker wished his Turkish Cypriot counterpart success in his new post.

TRNC Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre for his part thanked his Turkish counterpart for his well wishes and vowed to continue working to further strengthen relations with motherland Turkiye.

Töre also received a separate message of congratulations from the leader of Turkiye’s Grand Unity Party (BBP) Mustafa Destici.
