A cooperation protocol has been signed between the governments of the Republic of Turkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in the field of youth and sports.

The protocol was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and the Turkish Minister for Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Minister Ataoğlu said that the provisions of the protocol addressed areas that were eagerly awaited by Turkish Cypriot youth and athletes.

“This is just the beginning. We shall continue to enhance cooperation swiftly,” he said.

The Turkish Minister for Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoğlu for his part said that they made no distinction when it came to the TRNC, offering all means possible.

Kasapoğlu also shared information on the infrastructure projects and plans they will be bringing to life in the near future.
