SRSG to meet separately with two leaders
Date Added: 27 June 2022

The UNSG’s special representative in Cyprus, Colin Stewart, is holding separate meetings with President Ersin Tatar, and the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades today.

The meetings take place ahead of Stewart’s trip to New York where the UN Security Council is expected to vote in a resolution for the renewal of the UN peacekeeping force’s mandate at the end of July.

While Stewart met with the Greek Cypriot leader in the morning, he will be received by President Ersin Tatar later this afternoon.

The Security Council is expected to extend UNFICYP’s mandate for a further six months.
