Stewart visits CTP

The UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in Cyprus and head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) Colin Stewart who is carrying out a series of courtesy visits following his appointment to the post visited the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) on Thursday.

According to the statement from the CTP’s Press Bureau, Stewart met with the CTP’s Foreign Relations Secretary Fikri Toros and a member of the party’s Central Executive Council Çiçek Göçkün.

Alongside the current global political developments, the Cyprus issue was taken up during the meeting.

Stewart and the CTP delegation also exchanged views on the issue of confidence-building measures (CBMs) which are claimed to be prepared by the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades.
