Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu emphasized the importance of economic development while receiving the Republican People’s Party Metropolitan Mayors delegation from Turkey.
Sucuoğlu noted that they aim for a Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus that fully supports itself economically in the period ahead.
He also said that they aim to further strengthen municipalities by reducing their load.
“We may be two states, but we are one nation. There cannot be the slightest difference of opinion here. In fact, we are going even further, saying three states, one nation and adding Azerbaijan to it,” said Sucuoğlu, adding that they are carrying out their work in line with these thoughts.
Explaining that they are working to counter the negative side effects that have been experienced in the tourism and higher education sectors in the country due to the pandemic, Sucuoğlu said that the government is doing all it can to overcome these difficult times.
The CHP Deputy Chairman and Ordu MP Seyit Torun for his part said that the mayors of the Metropolitan Municipality were carrying out visits to municipalities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in order to share their experiences with their counterparts.
