A delegation from the Economic Organisations Platform headed by Turgay Deniz paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu on Wednesday presenting their views on what can be done in terms of the economy before the election bans come into force.
Speaking during the visit, Deniz pointed out that the global Covid-19 pandemic had deeply impacted the TRNC economy which depended on exports, tourism and higher education.
Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu for his part said that the economy was of utmost importance for the new government.
“Our priority at this time will be to take swift steps that will help ease the current economic crisis and allow hot cash to flow into the country,” he said.
He also said that the government will make it a priority to address urgent and outstanding problems in the country regarding the agriculture and health sectors.
Underlining the importance of the contribution of economic organisations to the country’s economy, Sucuoğlu said there was a need to take bold and radical decisions.
