The Leader of the National Unity Party (UBP), Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu on Tuesday said that he will be conducting a second round of talks with political parties with seats in parliament but will not hesitate to hand back the task of forming a new coalition if the current deadlock persists.

Speaking to the TAK news agency, Sucuoğlu stated that his efforts to form a government were continuing.

He said that the issues discussed during separate talks with the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Democrat Party (DP), People’s Party (HP) and Rebirth Party (YDP) had been evaluated within the UBP.

Stating that he would be launching a second round of talks once the evaluation process is completed, he said that while the DP and YDP were holding their own evaluations, he was planning to hold a meeting with the HP later today.

He added that they had held talks with the CTP during this process and that exchange of views was continuing.

In the meantime the General Secretary of the UBP Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu who spoke to BRT said they would be responding to the Republican Turkish Party’s (CTP) written proposal with a written response of their own.
