President Ersin Tatar received the head of the Kahramanmaraş Turkish Armed Forces Foundation Rüstem Özen and his accompanying delegation.

Speaking during the visit President Tatar said the presence of the Turkish Armed Forces in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) gave the Turkish Cypriot people a sense of confidence and security.

Noting that he had met with officials from the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation at different events, Tatar expressed the hope that the Turkish Armed Forces will further strengthen.

President Ersin Tatar also praised Turkiye’s defence industry and its subsidiaries, adding that this was to the benefit of the TRNC.

He also explained that the Turkish Cypriot people required the strong support of the Republic of Turkiye because of its geostrategic location in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre also received Rüstem Özen on Thursday.

Speaking during the meeting that took place at the TRNC parliament, Töre said that the Turkish Armed Forces served as a deterrent against all hostile powers and countries.

The parliamentary speaker said that the stronger the Turkish Armed Forces were the better it was for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

“Our troops are carrying out a sacred duty protecting our territory and providing us with security. I would like to wish the foundation success in its activities,” he said.
