The head of Türkiye’s HAK-İŞ Labour Union Confederation Mahmut Arslan and his accompanying delegation are holding contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Arslan was received separately on Monday by President Ersin Tatar and the Speaker of the TRNC Legislative Assembly Zorlu Töre.

Receiving the Chairman of HAK-İŞ Mahmut Arslan first, the Speaker of the TRNC Parliament Zorlu Töre highlighted the importance of developing relations with motherland Türkiye in all fields.

He said that he was pleased to see KAMU-SEN being a member of HAK-İŞ.

“We are working to foster stronger relations with motherland Türkiye and to serve national interests,” Töre added.

Also receiving the delegation, President Ersin Tatar said that the support given by Türkiye to efforts aimed at promoting the TRNC was a source of strength for them.

He added that the TRNC was a separate Turkish Republic in the Eastern Mediterranean.

“Our relations with our motherland are special and sacred…The Turkish Cypriot people will embrace the future with great hope. We exist as a result of this bond,” Tatar said.

Later in the day, the delegation was also received by the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu.
