President Ersin Tatar is continuing his contacts in the British capital London.
On Sunday, the president paid separate visits to the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations and the Turkish school.
Speaking during his meeting at the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations, President Ersin Tatar said that he was always working for the welfare and prosperity of the Turkish Cypriot people.
He said that the Turkish Cypriot people, subjected to inhumane isolation and embargoes, continued their struggle with the support of Türkiye.
Tatar added that the TRNC’s importance had grown in the region as a Turkish state.
“We will create a stronger TRNC. The support of our citizens wherever they might be, is of extreme importance,” said Tatar, pointing out that it was necessary that younger members also took part in the council.
Regarding the Cyprus Issue, President Ersin Tatar said that no one should underestimate the Turkish Cypriot peoples’ resolve and their struggle.
“Turkish Cypriots are just as equal as Greek Cypriots on the island. The Turkish Cypriot people are partners, they are sovereign in Cyprus. Our flag and state is the expression of our freedom. We shall continue our struggle,” he said.
Later in the day, President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar visited the Hornsey Atatürk Turkish School in North London where they met with school officials.
Speaking there, President Ersin Tatar said that the TRNC was always by the side of the Turkish Cypriot community living in London.
He called on Turkish Cypriot families in the UK to send their children to Turkish schools to foster a stronger bond to the TRNC and the island.
