State and government officials have issued messages to mark the November 24 Teachers’ Day.
President Ersin Tatar was among those who issued a message to mark the occasion.
In his message issued to mark November 24 Teachers’ Day, President Ersin Tatar said that teachers had played an important role in the Turkish Cypriot peoples’ struggle for existence by bolstering unity and solidarity, keeping nationalist sentiment alive and taking on important duties.
He said that teachers continued their sacred duty today as architects of Turkish Cypriot society, raising and educating younger generations under the roof of their own sovereign and independent state.
“It is my conviction that our teachers will continue to raise generations filled with love for their homeland, their flag and their nation,” Tatar added.
The president concluded by stating that the Turkish Cypriot society, guided by teachers, will continue to follow the path of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his principles.
