President Ersin Tatar came together with university students as part of his contacts in Erzincan.

Speaking during his meeting with the students at the Binali Yıldırım University Library, Tatar stressed that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) continued its efforts to be included in the Organization of Turkic States with the full support of the Republic of Türkiye.

He also underlined that Türkiye, which has successfully adopted modern advancements, was guiding the TRNC in every field.

Speaking during his meeting with university students at the “Youth Meeting” program held within the scope of the International Symposium of the Turkic World at the Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Library, President Ersin Tatar thanked the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yıldırım for organizing such an important meeting.

Stating that the TRNC continued to work with the full support of Türkiye to be included in the Organization of Turkic States, he said that Turkic states were building closer bonds with each other thanks to advanced communication and transportation technologies.

“When we come to the union of Turkic states, there is much work to be done here. Of the $700 bn trade volume, trade between Turkic states stands at only the $18bn. The remaining trade is conducted with other countries. Therefore, I hope that, with the joint decisions to be taken in the coming years with the convergence of the Organization of Turkish States, the trade volume between Turkic states will increase,” Tatar added.

Stressing that it was an honor for him to serve as the president of the TRNC, Tatar noted that the most important thing for him was to be able to work together with motherland Türkiye on areas of national policy and interest.

Referring to the importance of Türkiye in his speech, President Tatar said “as someone who has traveled the world many times and knows more or less about these things, very important opportunities will be given to all Turkic states under the leadership of the Republic of Türkiye. Today, it guides the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in every field. Because modern day Türkiye is a great and a successful state. It will be able to direct all Turkish states with its human resources and potential in every field and with its achievements.”
