President Ersin Tatar has said that the police force was working tirelessly to maintain law and order as well as public safety in the country.
Speaking whilst receiving the Chief of Police Ahmet Soyalan on Monday, Tatar said that it must be the new government’s priority to address the issue of staff shortages in the police force.
He also praised the police force’s efforts and work carried out during the pandemic lockdowns and the period that followed.
“I believe that the police will continue to carry out its duties in the best possible way in 2022. That being said I believe that it should be the priority of the new government that will take office at the end of this month to address the issue of shortages of police officers in the force,” the president said.
Tatar wished the police force success in the New Year and said that his consultations with the Chief of Police on security matters will continue.
