Tatar receives Head of Religious Affairs Ünsal

President Ersin Tatar on Monday received the Head of the Department of Religious Affairs Ahmet Ünsal.

Speaking during the visit President Tatar emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people attach great importance to the holy month of Ramadan.

Touching upon the developments that are taking place around the world, the war, pandemic and the economic crisis, Tatar said that many people in the TRNC were suffering and struggling to meet their basic needs.

He said that he was ready to do whatever was needed as the head of the state to help the people overcome these troubled days.

“We expect solidarity, brotherhood and sincerity on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot people who are part of the Muslim world but have suffered great injustices,” said Tatar.

He added that the presence of motherland Turkiye on the island was the Turkish Cypriot peoples’ only guarantee to live in peace and tranquillity on the island.

“I wish the month of Ramadan to bring health and peace to everyone,” said Tatar.

The head of the Religious Affairs Department Ahmet Ünsal for his part wished that Ramadan, the holiest month of the year, will bring health, peace and tranquillity to the Turkish Cypriot people and the Muslim world.
