Tatar receives TDMMB delegation

President Ersin Tatar received a delegation from the Union of Chamber of Turkic World Engineers and Architects.

According to a statement released by the presidency, President Ersin Tatar was awarded the honorary membership to the Union of Chamber of Turkish World Engineers and Architects.

Turkish Cypriot academician Professor Dr. Hüseyin Gökçeküş was also presented honorary representation to the union.

Speaking during the visit, President Ersin Tatar stated that a variety of important projects and workshops were held under the leadership of Professor Dr. Hüseyin Gökçeküş and added that all contacts with institutions and organisations in motherland Turkey are very important.

Drawing attention to the necessity of political, cultural and academic cooperation for the development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President Tatar said that the cooperation with Turkey in every field gives confidence to the Turkish Cypriots.

Noting that the project that foresees electricity being brought from Turkey by cable is of great importance, not only in terms of the economy but also in terms of the environment, President Tatar said the views of architects and engineers on this issue are of great significance.

Stating that tourism and higher education are the leading sectors in the TRNC but that the environment also plays an essential role, Tatar drew attention to the need of preparing environmentally friendly projects.

Officials from the Union of Chamber of Turkic World Engineers and Architects for their part stated that they are ready to make any kind of contribution to the TRNC.
