Tatar returns to TRNC

President Ersin Tatar completed his Ankara contacts and returned to the country.

Evaluating his Ankara contacts to the Turkish News Agency (TAK), President Tatar said that his contacts were very productive.

Expressing that he believed that the TRNC will always develop in every field, Tatar pointed out that Türkiye was always supporting the TRNC adding that it was important to use this support and potential correctly.

Stating that the agricultural sector had gained great importance with the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, the President said that the TRNC really has great potential in this field and that they should develop agriculture and agriculture-indexed sectors within this framework.

Stating that he believed that trade with the Turkic world will develop as well as the development of existing relations with Türkiye, he stressed that he attached great importance to his Ankara visit and thanked the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce for accompanying him during the visit.

Noting that hotels in the TRNC had gained their old potential after the pandemic and hosted guests above the seasonal norm, Tatar noted that the value of the country had increased adding that the potential of the beautiful island of Cyprus will increase even more.

The President also drew attention to the fact that production was important for the country.

Pointing out that the new airport was about to be completed and the number of tourists will increase in parallel, Tatar thanked everyone who accompanied and hosted him in his pleasant and productive contacts.

During his Ankara contacts, President Tatar was accompanied by the TRNC Ambassador to Ankara İsmet Korukoğlu, the President’s Special Adviser on International Relations and Diplomacy Hüseyin Işıksal and the President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Turgay Deniz.

President Tatar, who visited the chambers of tradesmen, industry and commerce in Ankara and had very useful contacts, was welcomed by the Presidency officials at Ercan Airport.

During his Ankara visit, the President visited the economic organizations, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, the Ankara Chamber of Industry, the Central Union of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen Credit and Bail Cooperatives Unions and the Ankara Chamber of Commerce.

Tatar gave conferences at the Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University and the Başkent University and talked about the new policy of the Turkish Cypriot People on the Cyprus issue and their years of struggle.

He also attended a meeting organized by the EkoAvrasya Foundation.
