President Ersin Tatar who held a series of contacts in Eskişehir returned to the republic on Monday evening.
According to information released by the President’s Office, Tatar made statements on the Cyprus issue during his meeting with war veterans in Eskişehir who served during the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation.
The p resident also visited and laid a wreath to the monument of Martyred Pilot Captain Cengiz Topel in Eskişehir.
As part of his contacts in the city, Tatar came together with press members in Eskişehir where he evaluated the latest developments on the Cyprus issue and responded to their questions.
He also visited the 1st Main Jet Base and the Ertuğrul Gazi’s Tomb in Bilecik.
President Tatar who attended the Anadolu University’s opening ceremony for the 2021-2022 academic year gave the first lecture entitled “the Turkish Cypriots struggle for existence on the island from past to present.”
Tatar was also bestowed an honorary doctorate by the university.
